Privacy Policy
Effective January 1, 2026
DUCK REEF, LLC ("Duck Recipe," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Duck Recipe website, including its recipe library, membership program, and kitchen store (collectively, the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account information. When you register for an account or a membership, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and, where applicable, billing details processed through our payment provider.
- Order and shipping information. When you purchase products from our kitchen store, we collect your shipping address, order history, and related transaction details necessary to fulfill and support your order.
- Usage data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Site, including pages viewed, recipes saved, search terms, referring pages, device and browser type, approximate location (derived from IP address), and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and comparable technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure usage, and support advertising, as described further in our Cookie Policy.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to: create and maintain your account and membership; process and ship store orders; provide customer support; personalize recipe recommendations; operate, secure, and improve the Site; communicate with you about your account, orders, or membership; and, where you have not opted out, deliver and measure advertising.
3. Advertising and the Bing Ads Tag
We advertise the Site through Bing Ads (Microsoft Advertising). To support these campaigns, the Site uses the Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) Universal Event Tracking ("UET") tag. This tag is placed in your browser when you visit the Site and is used to:
- Measure conversions, such as completed purchases or membership sign-ups that result from our Bing Ads campaigns;
- Build remarketing and custom audiences, so that we (and Microsoft Advertising on our behalf) can show you or similar users relevant ads on other sites you visit; and
- Analyze aggregate campaign performance.
The data collected by the UET tag typically includes the pages you visit on our Site, the approximate date and time of your visit, device and browser information (such as browser type, operating system, and screen size), and an approximate geographic location based on IP address. This data is associated with a browser identifier, not directly with your name, unless you have separately provided that information to us (for example, by creating an account).
Your advertising choices. You can opt out of personalized advertising and remarketing at any time using the following resources:
- Microsoft Advertising's own opt-out and personalized ads settings: https://about.ads.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/policies/personalized-ads
- Digital Advertising Alliance industry opt-out (covers many ad networks): https://optout.aboutads.info/
- Your Online Choices / AdChoices opt-out: https://youradchoices.com/
You may also disable cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may limit certain features of the Site. See our Cookie Policy for more detail and for how to manage cookie preferences using the consent banner shown on the Site.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. We do share information with: payment processors and shipping carriers necessary to fulfill orders; service providers who host, secure, or analyze the Site on our behalf; and advertising partners, including Microsoft Advertising, as described in Section 3, for the purpose of measuring and delivering advertising. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of DUCK REEF, LLC, our users, or the public.
5. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. These rights are not universal and their exact scope depends on the law that applies to you.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising, such as the advertising described in Section 3).
- European and UK visitors (GDPR/UK GDPR). You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to request portability of your data to another provider.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 7. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account or membership remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Usage and advertising data associated with cookies is generally retained for shorter periods consistent with industry practice, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
